One source told The Sun newspaper: ‘Perrie looked amazing and caught Dougie’s eye.The two of them stayed chatting into the early hours. In November 2013, Mc Fly joined the band Busted to form the super-group, Mc Busted.
She said in 2014: ‘Dougie Poynter from Mc Fly started seeing Frankie…
and I was gutted.’ Perrie and Dougie followed each other on Instagram back in April, and were drawn to each other at the party – maybe due to the magnetic force of the studs on Dougie’s jacket.
‘It’s quite therapeutic to go back, quite scary and a bit of an eye opener into how dark it can get if you take your foot off the gas and stop looking after yourself.’ Drummer and Strictly star Harry Judd then chipped in: ‘Half the time you didn’t know what you were doing – it was us telling you.’ ‘Yes, because I was so battered,’ Dougie replied.
But after confirming the pair were simply just good pals, it seems the star might be having fun with another mystery lady.
"They looked really happy with each other, and got really close at the edge of the stage." The Belvedere event saw Dougie pictured with Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts – but it seems the Mc Fly singer had his eye on someone else.
"They were pretty much all over each other – she had a short pixie crop like his ex Frankie Bridge, and he couldn’t stop smiling," the insider added.
Runway-side, Poynter is celebrated for his trend-setting personal style.
